Peptone

Peptone paste is a pre-digested protein that is made via enzymatic hydrolysis of offal. Peptones are water-soluble protein hydrolysates, containing peptides, amino acids, and inorganic salts as well as other compounds, such as lipids, vitamins, and sugar. Peptones are protein hydrolysates formed by enzymatic or acidic digestion of various raw materials and many complex media contain peptones as the source of nitrogen. Meat is commonly used as a source of nutrients in complex media and contains a mixture of amino acids, carbohydrates, minerals, and trace elements.

Peptone contains polypeptides and amino acids; therefore, it provides a readily available source of nitrogen and minerals for the growth of bacteria.

Peptone paste is ideal for use in the pet food industry owing to its high nutritional content. Since this is a pre-digested protein the complex amino acid chains are already broken down into their constituent simple amino acids which increases the rate of absorption of nutrients into the animal’s body making it a much better source of protein and other nutrients than other alternatives in the market. Peptone paste contains fat, cholesterol, and nutritional value which can be re-processed into animal feed/kibble, most suitable for both dogs and cats.

Bacto Chem’s peptone paste constitutes 90% protein content. We use a vegetable-based enzyme (papain) for hydrolysis of offal as a basic constituent in our manufacturing process of Peptone.

Our product is used as a nutritional supplement, Rich in Amino acids and protein .It is a hematinic supplement and an effective appetite stimulant. It can be added to the feed or used as a feed individually or in combination with other feeds.

Peptone derived from animal source can create synergistic effects that results in higher performance than the peptone of plant origin used alone.
